We can answer all your questions

See below for Frequently asked questions about Emergency Cards.

Are Emergency Tags the same as the Emergency Cards?

Yes and no. The Emergency Cards and Tags have the same purpose – sharing vital medical and emergency contact information in time of great need.

The Emergency Card is designed to fit into your purse, wallet, or cellphone case, whereas the Emergency Tag is designed to go on a keyring, bike frame, walking frame, mobility scooter, bag, zip, and so on, the possibilities of what you can attach the Emergency Tag to is endless.

As the Emergency Tag is smaller there is less space available to include information. Therefore, the Emergency Tag includes your name, emergency contacts, and any life-threatening medical conditions. There isn’t space to include Blood Type or Identifying Features.

If you are wanting to include Blood Type or Identifying Features, then we suggest that you also purchase an Emergency Card and have this on you as well.

Can I order Emergency Cards and Tags together, and how many can I order?

You can choose to order as many Emergency Cards and, or Emergency Tags as you need. You can order them separately or together. It’s up to you.

Just remember that the same information is printed on all items in the order. If you need different information printed on each Emergency Card(s) or Tag(s), you will need to place separate orders.

Most customers find one Emergency Card and one set of three Emergency Tags is all they need.

Do you accept orders from outside of New Zealand?

We appreciate your interest in our products however, currently, we do not accept orders from outside of New Zealand.

How do I update my information if it changes?

Unfortunately, at times, particularly in a wide-spread emergency, accessibility to the internet could be limited or unavailable. To ensure that your information is always available to first responders, we have chosen to print your information onto the card rather than use QR codes that rely on an internet connection for readability.

What this means is that if you need to update your information at any point, you will need to order and pay for a new Emergency Card or Emergency Tag.

What do you do with my personal information? How do you protect my privacy?

We use the personal information you have supplied to us to fulfil your order. After that, your personal information is destroyed. This means that if you lose your Emergency Card or Tag you will need to reorder and supply us with the information again. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further information.

What information is incuded on the Emergency Card or Tag? Can I customise it?

Yes! You have full control and the freedom to choose how much, or how little information you want to include, at a minimum you should provide your name, even if it’s just your first name, and at least one emergency contact. Be sure to get their permission first, and it’s fine to include just their first name only.

Here are some recommendations, but you have the choice to decide what to include:

- If you have medical conditions or allergies that are crucial for first responders to know, list them here. This is not the place to record your full medical history – only life-threatening conditions.

- If you have identifying features such as birthmarks, tattoos, or scars include this information along with their locations to help first responders confirm your identity.

- Listing your blood type can minimise delays if you need a blood transfusion.

Please know that space is limited so if the information provided is more than space allows, then we will be in contact with you to discuss possible amendments or abbreviations.

Are there any discounts for bulk orders or returning customers?

We do not offer discounts for bulk orders or returning customers. A portion of the sale of Emergency Cards and Tags supports charity and non-profit organisations and groups, and we want to maintain our focus on continuing to support them.

Can I return my Emergency Card or Tag?

If we have made an error in correctly translating the information you have supplied us, then we will happily replace the items where the error has been made.

However, as your order has been fulfilled specifically for you, customised with your personal information, we are not able to accept returns if you change your mind.

Please refer to our Delivery Information page as it also provides guidance on what to do if your order is faulty or damaged in any way.

Further information can also be found under our Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Consumer Guarantees and Fair-Trading Acts pages.

Do you accept applications from individuals wanting to fundraise?

We primarily work with groups for fundraising initiatives. Therefore, if you’re part of a group interested in raising funds, I encourage the group as a collective to make contact.

How long does it take to receive my order?

We aim to have your order delivered to you within 10 working days. That said, rural delivery may take slightly longer, and once your order leaves us, we have no control over how quickly it gets to you. If you haven’t received your order within 10 working days, please contact us so we can track it.

If it is likely, and to our knowledge that your order will be longer than 10 working days, we will endeavour to contact you to let you know.

What if I don't have any life-threatening medical conditions?

Even if you don’t have any life-threatening medical conditions, carrying an Emergency Card is still highly recommended.

Emergency Cards can provide essential information to first responders such as your emergency contacts, blood type and any identifying features you may have to confirm your identity.

If you’re unable to communicate, this information can be invaluable in an emergency, whilst also helping your loved ones to be contacted quickly.

What should I do if I lose my Emergency Card or Tag?

Unfortunately, this can happen, and you will need to order and pay for replacement(s).

As we don’t keep your personal information on file, you will need to supply it to us again. This is a good opportunity to include and update any information that may have changed.

In the meantime, consider carrying a temporary written note with essential information until your new Emergency Card or Tag arrives.

Notify your emergency contacts so they are aware their details have been misplaced.
